Hoops on the road

1:38 PM  Dec 28th, 2012
by Shannon Shelton Miller

The Flyers are hitting the road this weekend for some key basketball matchups to close out 2012.

The men’s team (9-3) will travel to Los Angeles to play Southern California (4-8) at 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 30. Fans can watch the game on the Pac-12 Network or hear streaming audio on www.DaytonFlyers.com. WHIO Radio will also carry the game.

The No. 15 women’s team (12-0) won’t have to travel as far — they don’t even have to cross state lines. The Flyers will head north on I-75 to play Bowling Green (8-3) at 1 p.m.  Sunday at the Stroh Center.

The women’s basketball team has already made history by achieving the program’s highest-ever ranking. If the Flyers beat the Falcons Sunday, they’ll hit another first-time milestone by going undefeated through their non-conference schedule.

WHIO Radio will also broadcast the women’s game. To listen to both, click www.newstalkradiowhio.com. Bowling Green will also offer streaming video for $8 at this site: www.americaonesports.com/partner_members.asp?id=283

Want to watch the game in person? The Falcons are featuring a $1 ticket and $1 hot dog promotion that might just be worth a 2-hour drive.
