At 1700 on the River Campus, UDRI has many engineers working on projects in their labs. But outside the building, engineers are also working. They are nature’s engineers, the beavers. Here, a beaver pauses at the door to its den after crawling out of the water of the moat to dry off in the sun. Besides building dams, experts say beavers eat aquatic plants, tree bark, roots, and leaves.
