Communities Matter

National Library Week

12:16 PM  Apr 25th, 2013
by Meredith Hirt '13

Last week was National Library Week, sponsored by the American Library Association. The signage featured in Roesch Library displayed this year’s theme, “Communities Matter,” said Katy Kelly, communications and outreach librarian.

Every day in the Roesch lobby there was free candy and a light-up disco ball. There was also a daily trivia question, such as, “During what hours can you visit the U.S. Catholic Special Collection on the 3rd floor?” The participants who had the correct answer, Monday through Friday between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., won a #clubroesch tank top.

“Anyone who got the question correct got a tank; people were really excited to get one,” said Kelly. “The responses I got were from people saying it made their week, or their day. The library felt good to provide prizes that students really wanted.”

If you didn’t win a shirt last week, follow @roeschlibrary on Twitter to find out how you can receive one during finals week.
