Indoor snowflakes

If no snowflakes are on your home Christmas tree, you can create some from the lights on the tree with your camera’s lens. Set your camera to manual focus. Focus on the tree. Then gently and slowly turn the focus ring so the lights begin to look blurry, hazy, or misty to your taste. Then snap the picture. You’ve just made a photo with the visual quality called bokeh. Here is a picture of the middle section of the LTC tree with that effect.
